Mercury Retrograde in Capricorn is on a circuit from 13th December until 7th February 2023, starting next week. Alternatively, it may be your boss, client, colleague or professional rival who starts stalling or running on a hamster wheel. As with all Capricorn cycles, the things you do and say now are vital, because they will have a domino effect on your career, your status and your success, particularly near the New Moon in Capricorn on Friday 23rd December. This feels like year-end departure, promotion, redundancy and so on, doesn’t it? Yet, Mercury suggests the negotiations or news, the paperwork or debating, will be running backwards even as it appears to be moving forwards. Plan accordingly.

What if you are dealing with other people’s temporary barricades, walls and high fences in your career? Not just your own? Remember, you don’t necessarily have to react as if this is forever. With academia or unpaid work, too, the story ends on March 7th, 2023. Just because your boss is barricaded, or a colleague is momentarily seized by some psychological ring-fencing, does not mean you have to take them or the situation seriously after March next year. If the issue has any validity at all, it will still make sense, and carry weight once this cycle is over and the blocks or symbolic ‘piles of barrels’ vanish. That grey, leaden, dull, gloomy situation (as grey and heavy as Saturn himself through the telescope) will disappear.
In the meantime, the Saturn rules applies for a few more weeks. You’re just seeing someone in the workplace act it out. Perhaps yourself. If you are retired, have full-time home duties or are unemployed, Saturn will deliver the same scenario, but channeled through other areas of your life which relate to your role, and your goals.

You’ll be tempted by a group goal now that you’re enthused about, in days. It can be great or small, planet-changing, or important only to you and your friends, but you only get one triple Aries transit like this rarely. It spills over into 2023 so you would be booming along at a very pace with a fair wind by May 2023, as what you planted about 12 years ago, comes boomeranging back.
This ‘boom’ idea is really Jupiter, the planet we associate with booming thunder. This is your band. Your secret society. Your trade union. Your group. Your Substack tribe. Your charity. Well, Jupiter is in Pisces and your Eighth House of finance until Tuesday 20th December. Your old way of earning, saving, investing or managing money will be left far behind in what is left of this cycle, as more intriguing possibilities open up. In fact, by the time this cycle is over, and Jupiter is on its way into your Ninth House, you could be on your way to vast business, property or financial delivery. Never say never with Jupiter, Scorpio, and you have until December 20th to enjoy his solutions and opportunities. Courtship, the bedroom, babies, infants, schoolchildren, teenagers and Millennials are the focus for the boom. Thunderbolts may easily occur. The bolt from the blue is Jupiter.
