Well, as 2022 closes and you look forward to saving or making so much money in 2023-2024, it’s time to review your life budget. Time to ask yourself if you’ve been too revolutionary about money matters, or not revolutionary enough. When you have Uranus and the North Node both in the Second House, the last big beginning you made, or the last big ending you were forced to accept, becomes more important. How do the numbers add up? As May and July 2023 look like two welcome bumps in the calculations, you may want to dream bigger about your bank account, house or flat next year.
As two historic cycles are taking place now, this one is about singling out the most important aspects of your financial, business and property world, as opposed to the trivia. May 2023 looks interesting. The Sun and Jupiter both light your path then, Aries. You could become publicly admired and acknowledged for what you own or earn, then.
We’re also in the usual family zone at Christmas which means attention needs to go on your cousins, brothers or sisters. Your ruler Mars is retrograde in this zone of your chart until March 2023. The Third House rules not only cousins, brothers and sisters, but also communication and short-haul travel (a quick plane trip, an overnight stay after a weekend car expedition). Is the connection to your cousin, brother or sister something to feel peaceful about or not? Did they just thank you for a Christmas present, or have you just had a very public disagreement over the family business? Have you been doing the best with what life has given you, in terms of your sibling or cousin, or do you need to put more work in? The next two or three months, will emphasise and underline every single point about the relationship until you know exactly what’s going on, and where you stand. The state of play with your brother or sister will be more obvious now and require your input. Mars is about action. Retrograde is, backwards action. So, this process of reversing and stalling is a chance to figure out solutions.
This is also the time of year when short trips, also ruled by the Third House, and the internet (again, ruled by the Third House) can become a bigger source of friction. Slow down and cool down. Mars is your ruler, and he is the Roman god of war. Make sure your chariot is on the right road at the right speed. It is natural for you to go into situations with your armor on, Aries, but it is unlikely to get you very far, very quickly when Mars is going backwards.

Ceres enters Libra on December 18th. Let’s consider the health, fitness and well-being aspect of this cycle first. Everything about your body will be a lot more subject to compromise now – which is why it’s classically a time for a medical ‘deal’, or a new arrangement with a personal trainer. People get their teeth negotiated with the dentist at this time – and so on. This cycle is important as in 2023 you have the South Node entering this same chart zone, which is all about your physical state and the way it affects the work you do.
It’s an obvious time to get the once-over on tooth decay, cholesterol, blood sugar levels, blood pressure, bone density, and anything else you can think of. Perhaps, homeopathy, acupuncture, alternative health treatment and raw vegan options and so on. Taurus, this Ceres in Libra period is extremely useful, as it can give you much clearer insights on everything. You’ll get a better view of what’s actually functioning, or not functioning, now (and that includes your doctor, or dentist). COVID may be at the heart of your choices. If your doctor and his staff are wearing cheaper masks (or no masks at all) or your dentist has never heard of a HEPA filter or UVC light, you may find yourself sacking them.
You’ll be put in a position after July 2023, too, where it’s far more important to clearly rate treatments, diets, gurus, opticians, ‘miracle’ cures, doctors, hospitals, clinics, nurses, surgeons, health insurance staff, and associated areas. This goes into 2024, as the nodal cycle in Libra completes. In astrology we include mental health in this, so insomnia, say, or depression – the common colds of mental illness.
The Sixth House is also associated with part-time and full-time work, and the chores you do at home (if you don’t have a job), together with any outside interests which you think of as your duty (volunteer work, for example.) It’s all you do, on a daily basis, which is for others rather than yourself. In this Ceres in Libra cycle, you’ll be asked to scrutinise your working life carefully. You’ll find a change in the balance of power, with departures, arrivals, demotions, promotions. The power may be negotiated without any physical changes, but on a psychological level, too. Find your chair in this game of Musical Chairs that ends the year.
Lots of you will be working from home, job-sharing or having the week. Perhaps going to a 9-day fortnight. That would fit the Ceres transit of your Sixth House. Between now and this time next year, you’ll have a second chance to reorganise yourself, balance your health and well-being with your duty to other people – and to get the kind of lifestyle you can feel, empowers you. Nobody and nothing is more important than your health and that includes your boss or your customers, Taurus.

December brings Sagittarius weather. Your partner, ex-partner or potential future partner will be in the spotlight now. So will your enemy, opponent or rival if you have one. Everything about these relationships will be on show to other people now. What’s your marriage like? Is your ex-partner still single, or does s/he have someone new? It’s Christmas, of course. So, the spotlight swings on family gatherings; the children; perhaps, the life you left behind with a break-up or divorce. This is a useful time to update yourself on how you feel – and what to do.
You probably have at least one enemy, opponent or rival. For a week or two, now, this person will be back on your radar. This often happens when your old boyfriend brings his new girlfriend or wife into play – and that tends to happen at Christmas and New Year. Gemini, this cycle is very short. It’s your chance to examine how well you’ve handled the feud or rivalry to date, and where things stand now.
If you marry or become engaged now, expect more attention than you imagined and a glaring lack of privacy. Ditto, if you break up or get divorced. The Full Moon in Gemini brings things full circle. The Sun is opposite the Moon then. The Sun rules fathers and the Moon rules mothers. They face off. There may be a face-off with a former or current partner.
If you’re single, a new person may come along who highlights what you need to work on, perhaps. It is party season after all. People are looking for an al fresco New Year’s Eve date. Maybe a Zoom With a View. Do you have children, or is there a question about becoming pregnant or adopting? Stepchildren? That will involve a huge compromise this Christmas, as Ceres in Libra transits your Fifth House of parenting. Expect ongoing deal-making and negotiation, Gemini. Saturn in Aquarius is still with you in your Eighth House of joint finance and property. You still have barriers and barricades to deal with, until March 2023. Time to go back in again and inspect your approach and see if it’s still the right one. Mortgages, tax, inheritance payments, partnership investments, commission, loans, settlements, debts, joint assets and shared resources come under the rulership of the Eighth House. It’s about what you own, earn or owe in relation to a second or third party. The contents of your will (so the big items) or a legacy left to you (again, big concerns). Saturn ring-fences your life which is why you are seeing so many heavy restrictions. Yet, as I said, they vanish in March, along with Saturn from Aquarius.
That’s your cue to see an accountant, as your financial, lifestyle, business and property management is set for the biggest change in 248 years, Cancer. If you have Taurus factors in your natal chart, you stand to save a lot of money or make it, from May 2023 until May 2024 as Jupiter goes through that sign.
The Eighth House also rules sexual and financial relationships. It’s not just your money. This may be a big ask until March when Saturn goes. Are you on track, or do you need to rethink your approach? Now’s the time to slowly start thinking about how 2023 might be for you.

All hail Jupiter in your Ninth House for Christmas. The Ninth House rules foreigners, foreign countries, publishing, academia and the worldwide web. Jupiter is about optimism, growth and solutions.
The most important aspects of your academic abilities, your teaching or lecturing skills, your foreign involvements – and even your potential as publisher or author – will be on the agenda now. You may feel as if you are picking up where you left off, actually. You could pick up a diploma, a degree or an academic appointment by May 2023 when the cycle ends. Jupiter opens doors in terms of your commitments as a student or teacher, or if you’ve been letting your publishing responsibilities linger while waiting for luck. They call Jupiter the lucky planet because in mythology he was born lucky. He was the baby who escaped, grew fat on ambrosia, and came back to rule the world.
The Ninth House used to rule sea voyages a few centuries ago. Now it rules people from other countries and cultures on Zoom. It also rules any part of the internet you find foreign. What happens over the next few months, until May 2023, will open doors across Europe, Australasia, or the USA and more exotic places. How big are your horizons? Jupiter is alongside Chiron in Aries and from late March to late April, the Sun (your ruler) will be there too. If Easter turns up in conversations now, that’s why. What is in store will be big, Leo, as Jupiter is a gas giant, and gigantic is a key word for what can happen.

You are more than your career, but Saturn is making you think about work, as your achievements, your success, and your mission are still in the Saturn zone. Are you a full-time Mr. or Mrs., with a partner who is your job? A carer? A volunteer? This cycle is about dealing with barriers and barricades surrounding housework, unemployment, paid work, duty, service, academia and so on. The cycle ends in March.
If you’re getting it right or wrong, you’ll know about it, from late January to late February 2023 and that time-frame may already be in your diary. You can get promoted now, but you can also be called into your boss’s office, Virgo. Your C.V. and success rating is now ring-fenced. The same Saturn ring-fencing trends apply to you if you are retired, unemployed or have full-time home duties – but this cycle will be about the roles and goals you have on your own merits. Other people’s feedback will give you a useful yardstick for measuring yourself, and your life, at this time. However, it is your status and success under scrutiny and so you are the ultimate judge.
Everything about your performance at work from these ring-fenced projects, plans and people to professional politics, is in the frame. People get promoted now. They get new jobs. They are headhunted. They win awards. They also resign or retire. Virgo, because in March 2023 Pluto goes into this zone and Saturn goes out, keep your eye on the first quarter of 2023, because the barricades will come down then. Those heavy, banded, encircling walls will vanish.

Ceres moves into Libra for Christmas, and your First House of personal appearances, reputation and titles. How you are seen at a distance. There will be a new deal about this in time for the New Year.
For obvious reasons, you’ll be nurturing your image. That means the way you look, as well as the way you project your name and reputation. Everything will be negotiated in a compromise deal. As in 2023 we also find the South Node in Libra in the First House, after July, this could be a pivotal time for plans about packaging yourself. Next year.
This is the time to work on a new deal regarding your image, appearance, look, style or reputation. You may arrange to be photographed, filmed or framed in the public eye. You can expect to feel a much stronger, truer sense of how you want to be seen, and who you really are. Your image, look, reputation or public face will go on the line in terms of the power or control you feel you have, now. Your hands on the reins, or not? That’s the key to questions about cosmetic surgery, photographs, haircuts – or anything that advertises or promotes you (a speech, a website, a job interview). You’re facing a rather intense new phase now, in terms of your appearance, image, reputation, public profile or look. A new pathway will open up, and you can now put the past behind you, and look forward to the future – a relaunch in fact. The Full Moon in Gemini stretches across your money, property, charity and business zones. It’s a full stop in your life and a chance to take stock. You’ll either be at odds with someone over cash, business, property and possessions for this period, or find yourself feeling rather stretched, as you can’t agree with yourself. As you see the Full Moon building in size and roundness, allow more time and space. You also have Mars Retrograde in Gemini in your Eighth House until March 2023, so one situation is going backwards and forwards. It may be your mother’s inheritance; your philanthropic trust; your income; taxation – it’s complicated, Scorpio.
What you feel spiritually about money, property and possessions – and what the rest of you really needs, to feel secure – will now combine. Not surprisingly, this is a crucial time to make decisions about your valuables, your bank, your income, your debts, your lifestyle and your house or flat. When the Sun and Moon clash like this, though, you’re much more likely to organise something which can bring clarity and certainty if not a perfect result. Saturn remains in Aquarius, ahead of Pluto in Aquarius, next March 2023. The state of play with your cousin, brother or sister will now trigger more-than-Christmas feelings in one of you. The ‘baby’ in the situation will teach the person in charge quite a lot, perhaps, even if you are both adults now and the age gap matters less. This goes way back, Sagittarius, many years into the past. As you count down to March, when it all changes, this could be a significant time for cousin or sibling chemistry when you deal with the barricades or barriers that have been there since Christmas 2020.
This transit also rules commuting and short journeys, more significant at Christmas. When it comes to your car, your bike, your boat or your public transport habit, you’ll now be looking at a tightly ring-fenced situation and realising you have to wait. In fact, waiting is the only reality. Decisions which suit your need for control, are ready to be made next March, but not before. From that point, you will also be much better equipped to organise sibling issues in a way that genuinely serves your need to feel your hands on the reins. Saturn in the Third House is about dealing with rather heavily loaded situations which need a high strategy.

Welcome Jupiter in Aries in the Fourth House of your chart this Christmas, which rules the family, your household, apartment, house, town and country. A parent-child relationship in your family circle now will dominate the atmosphere of your month with its grand solutions and opportunities. It doesn’t matter who’s playing the parent, or who’s playing the child (you may be mothering your own grandmother) but what is important, is the terrific, sweeping, win-win answers this experience brings – until May 2023. When it comes to the house, the flat, or your flatmates (or live-in partners) the sense of hope and potential is the same.
Capricorn, it may be the right time to go ahead and buy or rent your dream home from Christmas. The place will accommodate your soul, as well as your more practical needs. It’s also a good time to choose a new flatmate – your radar will be right, and you’re much more likely to find someone you can live with happily, long-term. Full Moon in Gemini, Mars Retrograde in Gemini – and you. How do you resolve the issues around courtship, or the heirs to your throne? A baby or child in your world (perhaps a Millennial) now needs special attention – but in exchange, this small person will teach you something extraordinary if you can work around the Full Moon itself and wait until March 2023 for one rather circular issue to resolve. If you become pregnant at this time, the soul who has just arrived in your world could bring many lessons with them, particularly about the need to treat life as a journey not a destination.
The Fifth House also rules sex and flirtation; your bedroom and courtship or dating rituals. An intimate relationship now will divide you, perhaps, or you will find yourself at odds with someone else’s direction. Avoiding the actual Full Moon period is wise as if you can make big decisions at any time at all, there are far easier lunar cycles, Aquarius.
Emotionally, mentally, spiritually and physically, you will now reach an unusual state of equilibrium after March 2023, when it comes to children (your own or other peoples), your sexuality, and any adult children (Millennials) Then, Mars will stop his circuit and the loop will also be over. Sagittarius weather.
