Mars Retrograde is in a loop with your financial affairs, which means the ATM, or the online banking system, or the rock-solid deal, or buying your first home, falls through. Always read the fine print now. Better still, postpone expensive decisions unless you can use Plan B. The loop ends in March, Taurus.

May 21 - June 20
This is a good time to think about the best time to finally sort things out with your finances or property, later in February. You’ll be better informed and should come up with useful results – no matter if you are organising a loan, or even tackling really serious property issues. As with all Mercury Retrograde cycles, though, you may end up with a situation which makes perfect sense now but is ultimately changed later! What adds up and makes sense now, has to prove itself after February 7th.

Soon, Mercury is out of a loop. This affects a duet or duel. This is going to be an incredibly busy time for you, as you’ll be touching base with so many information sources – electronic, human or otherwise – that you may want to pace yourself and get a sense of rhythm and timing about what you are doing. You’ll have access to a vast range of sources, contacts and networks in a few days, but put the fact-finding in perspective, ahead of a huge March plan.

July 23 - August 22
So many x factors will complicate your dealings with a work, unpaid work or academic issue now, that you may want to wait until this cycle is over, from 7th February, before you start making up your mind. This is particularly true if you are negotiating. Whatever the nature of your academic or professional ‘business’, though, this is a famously flaky time, when what is allegedly settled or final, is often subject to change. All the more reason not to make or accept promises, without a sturdy Plan B.

August 23 - September 22
Cars, taxis, trucks, boats, aeroplanes, trains and buses can still be unreliable now, or you will face transport strikes, traffic jams, accident delays, or schedule changes. Mercury Retrograde is still finishing his loop. You are ruled by Mercury, natch. ‘Firm plans’ perhaps? Well, if you have one of those on the agenda, you may want to postpone it until Mercury is direct again. Mercury also rules communication, which covers a broad canvas.

September 23 - October 22
Mercury Retrograde is yet to finish his loop. So, it’s backwards traction action with computers, telephones, fax machines, mail – but also your dealings with the media. Flux, delays, reversals and general SNAFU situations are more likely now. A promise is seldom a promise at this time – and ‘confirmations’ are often anything but. From 7th February the jigsaw can be put back together.

You’ll now spend 2023 obtaining quotes on home repairs, renovations, furniture, domestic appliances, gardening equipment – or more ambitiously, you’ll be researching the property market, as a sale, purchase, mortgage or lease will be on your agenda. It’s the perfect time to go on a fact-finding mission, as March ends the barriers and starts the new control. Of course, self-control is your entry ticket.

From March, Saturn in the Fourth House means new rules. New restrictions. This rules home. The Fourth House also rules your family, and any flatmates or live-in partners who share your home. Expect a lot of phone calls, e-mails and debate, probably about issues which are central to your house, flat or garden – or just as likely, the family itself. March is worth prepping.
