    I am as usual confused by my astrology. At the moment I am a Sun Cancer experiencing my Saturn return (Saturn Aquarius 22). I thought my return would be about friends, groups and community because it is in Aquarius, but to be honest I could care less about that. Instead during my return I seem to be morning my mum that passed away in 2020. This Christmas/ New Year period has hit me really hard, harder than last Christmas and I just don’t understand why. I posted on your Astrology predictions for 2023 blog with all my natal chart visible but with 16000 plus posts it didn’t make it to the replies which I totally understand. So this time I thought I would just ask this one question about my Saturn return. I cared for my mum who had dementia for many years and we were very close. When she passed away I was completely devastated I just don’t understand why this return is making me so sad and teary this year. I know my Saturn return will not last forever, just a few weeks and I will get through this time just as I did when she passed away, I am just trying to understand my astrology and my natal chart better, so any sight would be greatly appreciated.

    1. Thank you. Your Saturn Return at 22 Aquarius was genuinely about friends and groups. Lacking them can be as difficult as having them. Yet you are quite rightly more concerned about the loss of your mother, who passed away two years ago. It is Christmas and you miss her. You were her carer and you were very close. I can’t see a chart here so all I can really do is talk to you about having the Sun in Cancer. It is part of your identity to be your mother’s daughter so when you lost her, you lost part of yourself. Cancer is the sign of matriarchy. The Sun is how you shine. Cancer is also about the family; the family tree; the ancestors; the cultural heritage and history of the family. So if you feel you have nothing to lean on and nowhere to go, for comfort, please go there. It is also very important to know she is in another space; as a medium I can tell you that. She has made the transition to spirit and is never more than a thought away or a dream away. Eventually you will meet again in that same space, which has its own reality; very different to ours, but still very real. It will take you some time to sort out how to live with the rest of the family who are still here, and how to figure out your identity without her. On December 19th Ceres entered Libra and your Fourth House of family and mother. That is why you had a tough Christmas. Ceres always brings deep emotion, and it is always about mothers and daughters. The Tarot card you drew, the Devil, clearly showed you the break-up with your boyfriend on Christmas Day. I am sorry you have been through it, but as you know, the Devil card is about liberation, freedom and space after a long period of feeling quite unhappily trapped.     1. Thursday 1st June 2023 is a Full Moon in Sagittarius opposite the Sun in Gemini. There are easier days. A Full Moon is always a stretch, or D-Day. Yet, you want to use Jupiter at 5 Taurus in your business partner’s chart to expand his/her name and face and help him/her shine financially, in the marketplace, and so on. That comes on June 9th through 13th. This is not 100% perfect. Jupiter has been away from Taurus for 12 years but when he arrives at 1 Taurus from May 22nd to 25th he will increase and expand your bank account or wealth. It may be because you save. It may be because you profit. The conjunction to Chiron in April 2024 is also terrific. You pull off the outrageous, audacious and so-called impossible all the time, with money, charity, business, shopping, selling, property. A video sounds ideal. I am glad you have UVC light at home; so many universities tell us it is the answer for Covid. Unfortunately XBB.1.5 is with us and it has doubled in some American cities in a short time. As a Sun Virgo you understand ritual and habitual are the key to everything. You have strong feelings about your home, local area, town/city, region. You are a patriot. Yes, you could become Mayor. Be careful what you wish for.     1. Correct, Jupiter by square and opposition is always beneficial, even though these aspects are challenging. It’s rather like having a big, fat man who is rolling in wealth, largesse, contacts, advantages, benefits – pushing back against what you are trying to do. From Aries and your First House he is really concerned with your image, title, reputation. So he may be challenging your marriage (Libra) your family (Cancer) your career (Capricorn). You gain anyway, but you may find a conflict from a cosmetic surgery procedure, new wardrobe, contact lenses and haircut which quite clearly makes you look terrific – but confronts your husband, or your mother, or a colleague. Another really obvious one is the promotion to a better title that makes you more visible online and more popular, which challenges an old boyfriend who always had you down for a mouseburger. Yet you can’t deny Jupiter’s benefits. I tend to think people should always do Jupiter.

    1. Okey dokey, so a birth chart can show you what to do, what to pursue, and how to be – to feel fulfilled. You will relaunch your appearance, title and reputation by May, as I’ve mentioned.     1. Thank you very much. Pisces and the Twelfth House are associated with hypnosis, religion, mediumship, Tarot, psychics, spirits, angels, crystals, healing, quantum, meditation, counselling, therapy, spirituality and all the invisible realities. You already have transiting Neptune there in your Twelfth House, as he has been travelling in Pisces for years. So you have been through many years (since 2011) of alternative world living. To you, what you have experienced with (say) the spirit world, or your subconscious mind, has been just as concrete and important as other things. Your Saturn Return is a reminder that there must be restrictions and limitations with this part of your life. Neptune is about everything and everybody, all over the place, all the time. It is an escape from reality but it can be confused and confusing. You can drift and float. Saturn could not be more different. Saturn Returns are times of reality checks when things must be respected, honoured, obeyed, understood, tolerated. Why? Because the big new walls are going nowhere.     1. Okey dokey, so weeding out the year, we remove all the Mercury Retrogrades but try to keep a Jupiter/Taurus pattern. You are in the clear with Mercury in Taurus from 2nd June and there are some stunning conjunctions between Jupiter at 3 Taurus and the North Node at 3 Taurus on June 2nd, 3rd. That can only happen very rarely and there is also quite a liberating, exciting Mercury-Uranus conjunction at 20 Taurus on Monday 5th June. That is quite good ‘general weather’ but what you really want is Jupiter at 8 Taurus in conjunction with your natal Chiron at 8 Taurus. For that, you go to the end of June, so June 24th-30th, with a repeat at 8 Taurus November 15th to 22nd and the final 8 Taurus Jupiter conjunction to your Chiron from February 8th 2024 until February 15th. You could use all three cycles, two or just one. It’s up to you really. You could draw a Tarot card for each of those periods, separately, or two or three together as a process. A Jupiter-Chiron conjunction in your Second House of financial gain and saving is a good thing to use.

I know it is almost the end of 2022 but there have been a few circumstances that make me feel like overwhelmed and difficult for decision-making. I work for a nonprofit based in DC and relocated to Auckland, NZ in February 2022, which was repealed in July and so I am returning to the US in March 2023.     1. You have that Sagittarius stellium in the Ninth House of publishing which makes you persist with the goal. What you are up against is the biggest challenge to the traditional publishing industry in decades. Why? Because we have Mars Retrograde in Gemini, then Jupiter in Gemini, then finally Uranus in Gemini (from 2026) so the old book world is under threat. What will replace it, is the internet, but also other kinds of media. I am sure you are aware of how many people have turned their writing into podcast material, for example. What you would definitely gain from doing is immersing yourself in the world of children (forget the author part for the moment until publishing sorts itself out) and just get a feel for what younger people want and need.     Before my question, your weekly reading this week had me completely floored – I found out stuff about my son that was completely unexpected – it was not an area I thought I needed to be concerned about (he is a Gemini sun, 14 June 2007). The situation happened yesterday morning and I read your weekly horoscopes for Virgo after that – it was all about 5th house matters and the difficulties on that front since 2008, all very true for me. When I used the astrology oracle, I got the Sun and 2nd house and it all made so much sense to me – the Sun spotlighted an area I was completely oblivious to and House 2 for me is about who or what I value the most – my children are my priority. To find out more I drew a card from Pamela’s deck and got the Heirophant – this for me was about laying down the law in a sense as a parent – going back to basics – ethics, values and morals – I am ever so grateful for all the resources and tools you provide and your support in enabling me and so many others to develop and grow in our understanding of astrology and the workings of the universe.

    Now to my question…I have only Chiron in Aries 12 and nothing in Jupiter – please can you take a look at my chart and let me know best time for work opportunities – I’m currently unemployed and really hoping that something comes through very soon. Even when unemployed you should volunteer or study on a zero-cost program or you will never feel yourself. March is the turning point for a new job. You are a Sun Virgo woman with stelliums in Virgo, Libra, Cancer, Capricorn. You are coming out of the long 2008-2023 Pluto in Capricorn career cycle on March 23rd 2023. The way you work after that will be quite different with none of the issues about who is top dog, following you around. The constant need to figure out the controls and deal with quite powerful, and sometimes overpowering, people and organisations ends. That will be very interesting for you. March 2023 also sees the beginning of a long Saturn opposition to your Virgo stellium, from Pisces, in your Sixth House of work. Take your time deciding what you get into, or out of, in March. It will affect you for some years to come. It’s not just work, of course, it’s also housework, and any unpaid work, and any study. You also have to factor in your health, mental health (ADHD) and overall wellbeing, as your Virgo stellium binds it all together.     I’m a sun Aries with stelliums in Taurus, Libra and Cancer. You had mentioned December was going too big a month for Aries with jobs and reshuffling. You were right! After being out of the work force for 8 years, I got a job offer with an amazing salary! I’m excited to start sometime this month. Just curious what 2023 holds for me with career or relationships. Well done with your new job after eight years out of work. As a Sun Aries with Taurus, Libra and Cancer stelliums you will make or save money, ongoing, until May 2024. Jupiter in Taurus in May 2023 and the New Moon in Taurus on May 19th suggest that is a green light. As Jupiter will also sextile your Cancer stellium from that point until May 2024, that also works out well for your house, apartment, land or property investment; Cancer rules property. It already has been with Pluto in Cap in my 5th house and I was really hoping for some respite in this area once Pluto moves into Aquarius – please can you tell me more about that? Love and sex are ruled by your Fifth House (courtship, the bedroom and parenthood) and the Seventh House (marriage or common-law marriage). You have stelliums in both Leo and the Fifth House and Libra and the Seventh House. Jupiter in Gemini from May 26th 2024 until June 9th 2025 will sextile your Leo stellium and trine your Libra stellium, so there will be more than one opportunity to explore a new and different way of having a partner and having a younger generation in your life. 55. Hi Jessica, Happy New Year! I hope you had an amazing start into 2023. I tried to post this question at the Capricorn birthday horoscope post a couple of days ago, but probably didn’t go through. I was wondering whether you have any insights you could share regarding career issues. After working for a few years on my PhD (academia) I had to take 1.5 years off because I was struggling a lot. The PhD process itself was difficult for a number of reasons (e.g. lack of institutional support, lack of resources, no guidance, etc.) but there were also a number of personal issues, particularly during 2021-2022 that made life much harder, both physically and mentally: a future-altering health condition, a lot of responsibilities (living abroad on your own comes with its challenges), ongoing health issues in my husband’s family, lack of support and dissapointment from my sister and father, etc. While, externally, not much has changed regarding these issues, I’m finally starting to get back on my feet and trying to re-launch myself and my career in early 2023. I decided to leave academia and apply for a new industry job that pays me well (I’ll need to have strong finances to support my health and life choices in the future). I have contemplated this a lot, and I don’t regret leaving academia, but I do want to finish what I started. So I plan to keep working on my PhD (alongside my new job) until it’s done. However, I already feel overwhelmed with all the work and responsibilities that come with these decisions. 2021-2022 was one of the hardest times of my life (if not the hardest), so I’m still recovering and feel quite insecure. I wonder whether I can pull this off: finish my PhD and build a successful career while navigating other lingering (personal/health) issues. Is there something in particular I need to pay attention to? I would be grateful for any input or suggestions you may have. As always, thank you for your great work!

    Thank you for sharing with us all this knowledge, I read all the comments and looks like we all are learning how to use astrology in our life in the way you are teaching us! This article caught my attention, I have factors on the degrees dates you mentioned, I have:

    Chiron at 15 in Aries (and other factors at ~14: Saturn 14 in Geminis, SN13 in Can/NN 13 in Cap, Bacchus 13 in Aquarius, Aesculapia 14 in Pisces).

    MC at 3 in Taurus (confirmed by 2004 transit of NN conjucted my MC in Taurus on the day I got married).

    I am sun Pisces with stelliums in Libra, Aquarius and Pisces, single mom, working in finance in a conservative financial institution…the job is not paying much but stable.

    Please, if you have a chance to see my chart (I’m premium member) I would like to ask if there is a way to maximize the benefits of these rare transits? I need to relocate and pay for my son’s high school (special learning needs), I already updated my cv and online profile, now working on my picture. Before mercury entered retrograde, I received several calls from recruiters but didn’t land any offers, I am afraid that the window for these advantageous transits will pass, since 2008 my life has devalued, I lost so much in all aspects financial, professional, love and socially. I don’t recognize myself anymore, and I don’t see how to catch up. Now my focus is only on work and my son’s education. I need a stronger financial stability and family support.     1. Thank you. You need money as a single mother and your son has special needs. You are wondering about new jobs, but most of all I would guess you need money so you can buy time off, to have your life back. The Five of Wands in Tarot is not about money; it depends on what your question was, and the time-frame you used. Go back again and ask “By this time next year, how can I save or make the most money?” You do have the potential to save or make quite a lot of money by May 2023. Long-term, you will live in a financial bubble from 2026, when nothing touches you. Comfortably insulated from financial reality, for whatever reason – so very different to now. You have plenty of time to find ways to save or make cash in 2023, as Jupiter is with you this year. From May 2023 to May 2024 you will enrich your local knowledge and get so much more out of life by travelling locally and regionally. It may be a local walking club where you can take your son, or an option that opens up with weekend breaks elsewhere. Not too far from home, but miles away in terms of the freedom it gives you. You will really enjoy this new part of your life. In fact, one town, city, village or neighbouring region will become second nature to you by the year 2026.

58. Jessica I noticed one of the lucky days for 2023 is June 1 with Jupiter in conjunction with North Node at 3 Taurus. I have both Venus and Ceres at 3 Taurus, with my Moon at 2 Taurus and Vesta at 4 Taurus. I am retiring from my job and moving south to Brisbane in June. Would this be a good date for my to leave Cairns and start my new life in Brisbane?

    1. Taurus rules finance, so on a business, financial level – yes. Presumably you’ve ticked all the budget boxes anyway but you may find there is an extra piece of luck here. Brisbane is an amazing place.

I came back to this post as I had not diarised the dates and also took a look to see if any of my kids have any of the factors you mention above – two of them have factors at 3 Taurus, I’ve ordered charts for all my kids so hoping you can take a look:

    My second son Matthew, a Cancer sun (27/06/1995) with the South Node at 3 Taurus – he’s had a really tough time these past few years and I’m really hoping that he has a breakthrough with employment soon – he is studying to be a personal trainer and studying is not really his strong point, although he is so talented in this area and a great teacher – please can you take a look at his chart and let me know if 2023 comes with good tidings for him.

    My third born, Aryan, a Gemini sun (7/06/2007) is 15 and going through the usual teenage hiccups – I’ve found his chart the most difficult to interpret as he is so young and would love your insights into what I should pay attention to. He has Ceres at 3 Taurus.

    On a separate note, I’ve been away for work last year and quit my job in July 2022 and moved back home to South Africa – Aryan lived with my parents during this time and now both Aryan and Matthew will move back with me – its currently Mercury retrograde in my 5th house and while I’d like to wait for that to be over before signing any new school contract, I’m nervous about delaying the start of his school year, which already began this week – any guidance on how best to proceed under these circumstances?

    1. Thank you Marls. Matthew will have a terrific opportunity by May, either a a personal trainer, or in a different field. He should snap it up as it won’t come again. Aryan has an identity issue at the moment – he is not sure about his appearance, reputation and profile – especially on the web. This is eased in March 2023 and he will be far happier about how he looks, and who he is publicly, from 2024. From 2026 he will change his image in a radical way and enjoy the freedom this gives him. Mercury Retrograde is a pest, but don’t be nervous, just have Plan B and Plan C. That usually helps.

60. Hello, the daily Capricorn horoscopes constantly refer to March 2023. I suppose today, like the others, will have to look after themselves.

    1. That’s because March 2023 sees Pluto enter Aquarius for the first time in 248 years and Saturn enter Pisces for the first time in 28 years. Capricorn has transits in both Aquarius and Pisces now, in January 2023, so wise Capricorns will prepare for the change in their financial or property position now and not sign anything before that happens. They will also be cautious with siblings or cousins now, ahead of a switch in their circumstances later.
